Follow these steps

  1. View the Sea Scouts and the Coast Guard Auxiliary - Implications for BSA councils video
  2. Appoint a Council Commodore to serve as the Sea Scout key contact even if your council has no Sea Scout Ships.
  3. Attend the AUXSCOUT 112 - Introduction to AUXSCOUT - What is it? How do we implement it? workshop; Download weblinks for Introduction to AUXSCOUT workshop
  4. Read Auxiliary – Auxiliary-BSA Memorandum of Agreement and AUXSCOUT Standard Operating Procedures
  5. Become thoroughly familiar with AUXBWiki and the Sea Scouts BSA website
  6. Contact the local Coast Guard Auxiliary division’s Staff Officer - AuxScout (SO-AS) or Division Commander (DCDR)
  7. Identify local Auxiliary flotillas in your council using the Ship – Auxiliary Flotilla map
  8. Reach out to your Youth Programs Branch Chief for the local Coast Guard Auxiliary district
  9. Develop a council Sea Scout - Coast Guard Auxiliary tactical plan for 2021-22; communicate it to the Council Sea Scout Commodore
