Follow these steps

  1. Attend 1. Attend workshop AUXSCOUT 102 – Introduction to AUXSCOUT
  2. Read MOA http://wow.uscgaux.info/Uploads_wowII/B-DEPT/AUX-BSA-MOA.pdf and SOP http://auxbdeptwiki.cgaux.org/index.php?title=Standard_Operating_Procedures
  3. Appoint DSO for Sea Scouts; see AuxBWiki for a job description and information on organizational support
  4. Become thoroughly familiar with AuxBWiki http://tinyurl.com/AuxBWiki and the Sea Scouts BSA https://seascout.org website
  5. Take BSA YPT https://www.scouting.org/training/youth-protection/ and Sea Scout Adult Leader Basic Training https://seascout.org/adult-training/
  6. Contact Sea Scout Regional Commodore to identify Sea Scout counterparts; ask for names and contact information for the Area and Council Commodores in your AOR
  7. Identify local Ships in the district’s AOR using the Flotilla-Ship map at http://tinyurl.com/AUXSCOUTmap
  8. Reach out to your Youth Programs Branch Chief for your district
  9. Develop District AUXSCOUT strategic plan for 2019-20; communicate it to the district leadership as well as the Youth Program’s Branch Chief for your district
  10. Submit monthly reports to the Youth Programs Division Chief and the Sea Scout Regional Commodore
    • Provide sample report
